An intriguing postscript to the Ravi Sinha affair in today’s FT: a sharp letter from Christopher Flowers should serve to raise the heat on the police to pursue a criminal investigation into his former employee. There had been speculation that JC Flowers, or the company Flowers controls that had been defrauded, was keen to sweep the affair under the carpet. Absolutely not, protests Flowers. Everything was reported to the authorities as soon as the affair came to light, and he promises full co-operation in future. However, as he concludes: “The decision on whether to conduct an investigation is not ours to make.” As before, it’s over to you, PC Plod.
